TOUR ITINERARY
Airport pickup in Istanbul. Hotel accommodation. Sultan Ahmet, Hagia Sophia, Bazaar of coppersmiths, Çemberlitaş, dinner at Bosphorus Strait with whirling dervish show.
Flight from Istanbul to Kars. Accomodation in Kars. The Monastery of Nuns, Ani ruins in Kars, fortess, the Church of Tigran Honents (Gregory the Illuminator), return to hotel for local diner.
By car to Aras River overseeing the borders with Yerevan, Armenia. Lunch picnic on carpet in the neighboring villages with Armenian and Turkish local food. Visit in Tuzluca and the famous salt caves, with healing effects on asthma and brochitis. Hotel accomodation in Dogubayazit.
Starting the journey on car up to 2200m of Eli Village on Mount. Then hiking for 4 hours to 3000m., where a camp has been set up to provide a special Easter meal with pasta, eggs and etc. Meal served after special prayer. Return visit on Mount Ararat, the holyland of Noah’s Ark. Evening in Dogubayazit with local music and traditional folklore show. Performance of Kurdish singer Dengbej. Hotel accomodation in Dogubayazit.
Departing to Van and passing through Tendürek, a volcanic mountain, then walking over a hanging bridge to reach Muradiye Waterfall, where a picnic will be served. Satan Bridge. On the way to Van, overseeing Çarpank Island and then visiting Van Museum and Van Castle. By ferry to Akdamar Island, visiting the old Akdamar Church. In the evening, camping in front of the ferry pier. Campfire and barbeque in the sunset.
